4-14-26   THOUGHTS      

An ASSURED HEART is vital to our spiritual health.  Our loving in “deed and truth” is key!  
Emphasizing importance and priority, Paul says in 1Cor 13:3  “And if I give all my possessions to feed [the poor,] and if I surrender my body to be burned, but do not have love, it profits me nothing.”  Verse 16b says “and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.”  The New Testament powers this theme over and over!  

1John 3:14-19    We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love abides in death.  15  Everyone who hates his brother is a murderer; and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him. 16  We know love by this, that He laid down His life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.  17  But whoever has the world’s goods, and sees his brother in need and closes his heart against him,  how does the love of God abide in him? 18  Little children, let us not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth.  19  We will know by this that we are of the truth, and will assure our heart before Him

Our Prayer:
Father, teach us what matters, that we may find what is pleasing to You.  May the words of this reading sink into our souls and occupy our hands.  Help us to bless others with joy and love spilling over from full cups.    Thank You for blessing us so abundantly.   In the name of our Lord,  Amen.
